We absolutely love Alice in Wonderland here at Outrageous Bride Headquarters. Tea, cake, madness, what is there not to like?! There is something magical, chaotic and amusing going on! So, we were really excited by The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party style shoot in the latest issue of Outrageous Bride magazine.

A great theme for a wedding or perhaps a wedding anniversary celebration, hen party or birthday party! Gemma Innes from Vintage Gems created a super style shoot with her fabulous tableware, décor and props alongside an incredible team of creative professionals. Gemma has some great ideas and she can help you to host your own Alice in Wonderland inspired tea party. If you have a look at her Instagram page @vintage.gems.china.hire you will see so many beautiful and inspirational images.

Milwards Estate was the perfect spot for the photoshoot, a rose covered arbour, almost hidden away from view. The tea party featured bright bold colours, mad, fun and quirky props, and of course characters who would bring it all alive.  The pretty vintage crockery graced the table along with wonderland themed props, stationery, and tasty treats.  Artificial florals by Julie at Crystal Amor Events created an explosion of colour and her large crystal chandelier was a real wow factor centre-piece, catching the spring sunshine of the morning.

Our models, Nick, Kristy and Anita were costumed by Donna, @frenchsfancydress and she has a real eye for detail. It’s the small added extras that make the outfits so special.  The characters would not be complete without the skills of a hair and makeup artist. Emese @my.beloved.makeup worked true magic giving each model a dramatic look perfect for their role. She made the most of Kristy’s beautiful long hair, adding the dramatic dark veil created by Annemarie. This is a fabulous alternative wedding idea if you are looking for something different. Annemarie creates such beautiful bespoke veils and she loved the chance to make something with dark netting for a change. @annemarieprescott_bespokeveils

Amy created the most perfect party stationery including invitations, table settings and menus. All the details were exquisite, and her calligraphy is amazing.  You can find her stunning and artistic work at www.theamyverse.com

Val’s tasty delights made for a great afternoon tea ‘wonderland style’ included flamingo cookies and toadstool cupcakes, @sovereign_cakes.  And to capture this magical scene, Alison Wonderland Photography she also has the perfect name!  Alison worked closely with the team ensuring that everyone’s speciality was featured. She guided the models creating some spectacular shots.
